About Rickey Jackson
Prior to making it to the NFL, Rickey Jackson was a standout linebacker for the University of Pittsburgh. While there he racked up 290 tackles, 166 of them unassisted, as well as 21 sacks. In 1981 Rickey became the 53rd overall selection in the 1981 NFL Draft where he played all 16 games in his rookie campaign to become a member of the NFL All-Rookie team. At the time of his retirement from the game, Jackson held several records in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints, including most games played for the team and most career sacks for the team. That kind of success on the field led him to becoming a 6 time Pro Bowl selection, a 4 time First-Team All-Pro selection, and a Super Bowl Champion. For his contributions to the New Orleans Saints his number 57 jersey was retired by the team, and in 2010 Jackson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
