About Ray Bourque
Ray Bourque is a former NHL defenseman. In his long career Ray always made an impact. In his first game he scored a goal and quickly became one of the best defensemen in the league by winning the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Star selection. His shot accuracy led him to rack up some substantial numbers in his career. He even holds the NHL record in most career goals, assists, and points by a defenseman. In his career aside from the NHL, Ray played on the 1998 Winter Olympics hockey team where he led all defensemen in scoring as well as the 1981, 84, and 87 Canada Cup where he medaled each time . Since his retirement Bourque has been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility thanks to numbers like 410 defensive goals scored and his 6,206 shots on goal which are both all-time records.
