About Penny Hardaway
Penny Hardaway is a retired NBA point guard, playing for four teams over his 15 year career. Hardawaywas the high school playerof the year in his senior season, and he committed to the University ofMemphis. His best season at Memphis was the 1993season, where he would average 22.8 points pergame, and he was named an All-American. In the 1993 NBA Draft, Hardawaywas drafted with the thirdpick by the Golden State Warriors, but he was traded later that night to the Orlando Magic. His rookieseason would be a good one, as he helped the Magic reach the playoffs for the first time, whileaveraging 16 points andsecuring 190 steals. In the 1995 season, Hardaway led the Magic to a franchiserecord 57 wins and a spot in the NBA Finals,ultimately losing to the Houston Rockets. After sevenseasons in Orlando, Hardaway was traded to the Phoenix Suns, wherehe played for six seasons beforebeing traded again to the New York Knicks. Hardaway would play his last NBA season as amember ofthe Miami Heat in 2007, playing just 16 games before retiring. He is now the head men's basketball coach back at his alma mater.
