About Patrick Ewing
Patrick Ewing is a retired NBA player and current assistant coach. Ewing began his playing career atGeorgetown University, where he was a three-time All-American and an NCAA champion in 1984. In the1985 NBA Draft, Ewing was drafted by the New York Knicks, a team he would play for the majority of hiscareer. In 15 seasons with New York, Ewing was the Rookie of the Year, an 11-time all-star, and becamethe New York Knicks' all-time leading scorer. In 2000, Ewing was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics,ending his storied time with the Knicks as the only player to ever play 1,000 games as a Knick. After aseason with the SuperSonics and another with the Orlando Magic, Ewing decided to retire, ending hiscareer averaging 21 points and 9.8 reboundsper game. In 2002, Ewing started his coaching career as anassistant with the Washington Wizards and has served this role with the Houston Rockets, the OrlandoMagic the Charlotte Hornets. He also had a stint as the head coach at Georgetown.
