About Patrick Bertoletti
Patrick Bertoletti is an American competitive eater and chef. He is nicknamed “Deep Dish,” an ode to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. He is renowned for participating in Major League Eating events, holding numerous world records, and winning the 2024 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
His notable victories include the 2024 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest (58 hot dogs in 10 minutes), the 2010 World Poutine Eating Championship (13 pounds in 10 minutes), the 2011 La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Championship (275 pickled jalapeños in 8 minutes), and the 2015 Wing Bowl (444 wings in 26 minutes).
He has competed in other diverse eating contests, consuming 72 cupcakes, 35 dozen oysters, and over nine pounds of blueberry pie.
Growing up in Chicago’s South Side, he attended Morgan Park Academy, where he developed a passion for cuisine and earned a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts from Kendall College in 2006.
He is a mainstay in the Chicago food scene, having co-owned and been a chef at Taco in a Bag in Lincoln Square. He looks up to competitive-eating juggernaut Joey Chestnut as a mentor.
