About Grete Eliassen
Grete Eliassen became a Winter X-Games star in 2005 when she brought home a gold medal in the halfpipe from the 2005 Aspen games. She followed that up with another gold medal performance in 2006 and a silver medal performance in 2007. Since that time she’s competed in the slopestyle competition and brought home another silver medal and two bronze medals. The prime year of her career came in 2007 when she won all the open events in halfpipe, capturing the US Open, European Open and Nippon Open championships. From 2008 to 2010 she coproduced a ski film called “Say My Name” with Red Bull, which became one of the most popular action sports documentary films ever and earned her several awards for her performance. In 2010 Eliassen broke the Hip Jump World Record when she reached speeds of 60 mph downhill and soared 31 feet in the air off of a 30 foot hip feature. Later that year she was named Woman Skiier of the Decade by Fri Flyt magazine.
