About Brian Lopes
Brian Lopes is a professional mountain bike racer who currently competes for the United States in various international events. Originally from California, Lopes started with BMX at a young age, eventually turning professional at the young age of 17 years old. In 1993, Lopes decided to make the switch to mountain bike racing, and he has since won 18 titles, including nine NORBA National Championships. His achievements have earned him many ESPY nominations as well as two NEA Mountain Biker of the Year awards in 2001 and 2002. Lopes is currently sponsored by some of thebiggest companies in the world, including Oakley and Go Pro, making him a popular star among fans of the sport. In 2012, Lopes won the first race of the inaugural season of World Cup cross country eliminator series in Belgium, proving that he still had his talent.
