About Otto Porter
Otto Porter Jr. is a former professional basketball small forward who played 11 seasons and won an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2011. Porter attended Georgetown University from 2011-2013 where he played his first game on November 12, 2011. At the end of the 2012-13 season, Porter led his team to a number 2 seed in the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. He was also named the 2012-13 Big East Player of the Year and he was a finalist for the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award.
Porter decided to forgo his final two years of eligibility to enter the NBA draft in April 2013. The Washington Wizards selected Porter as the third overall draft pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Porter made his professional debut with the Wizards on December 6, 2013 after suffering from a hip flexor injury in September. On October 14, 2014, the Wizards exercised their three-year rookie scale contract that extended Porter’s contract through the 2015-16 season.
