Oscar Pistorius Biography

Oscar Pistorius is a sprint runner. Pistorius was born with fibular hemimella in both legs and at 11 months old, Pistorius had his legs amputated halfway between his knees and ankles. Pistorius took part in the 2004 Summer Paralympics where he won the bronze medal in the T44 100m event and he won the gold medal in the T44 200m event. Pistorius win the gold in the 100-, 200- and 400-metre events at the 2006 Paralympics Athletics World Championships. Pistorius set a disability sports world record for the 400-metres at the South African Senior Athletics Championships in March 2007. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, Pistorius won a gold medal in the T44 100m, T44 200m, and the T44 400m events. Pistorius participated in the 2012 Summer Paralympics where he took home the silver in the T44 200m. He took home the gold in the T44 400m and T42-T46 4x100m relay.
