About O.J. Mayo
O.J. Mayo is a professional basketball shooting guard for the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. Mayo attended University of California, Los Angeles and in the summer of 2007, he enrolled in summer classes. While waiting for the season to start, he would play pickup basketball against current NBA players. In the 2008 Pacific-10 Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, UCLA beat the Trojans in the semi-finals. Mayo did not return to UCLA for his sophomore season, opting to enter the 2008 NBA draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Mayo as the third overall pick in the 2008 draft. Later that day, Mayo was traded to the Memphis Grizzles. He was a part of the Select Team that helped get the U.S. national team ready for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Mayo was the runner-up for the 2008-09 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. Mayo became an unrestricted free agent in 2012 and on July 19, 2012 he signed with the Dallas Mavericks. He only spent one season with the Mavericks before becoming a free agent and signing with the Milwaukee Bucks on July 13, 2013.
