About Norv Turner
Norv Turner is the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL. Turner attended the University of Oregon where he was a backup quarterback to Dan Fouts. Turner served as a graduate assistant for Oregon in 1975. He then became an assistant coach for the USC Trojans from 1976-1984. During his time with USC, he was a wide receivers coach, defensive backs coach, and quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. From 1985-1990 he was the wide receivers coach of the Los Angeles Rams. In 1991, Turner became the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys when the Cowboys won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1992 and 1993. Turner was hired as the head coach of the Washington Redskins in 1994. In his time with the Redskins, they only reached the playoffs once in 1999 and they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Redskins released him in 2000. In 2001, Turner became the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers where he spent one season. He was then the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins for the 2002- 03 seasons. He has also coached for the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings.
