About Jim Tressel
Jim Tressel was the head football coach at Youngstown State from 1986 to 2000 and led his team to six consecutive NCAA Div I-AA National Championship games, winning four of them in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997. After his tenure at YSU Tressel went on to become the head coach at Ohio State and led the Buckeyes to 10 consecutive BCS Bowl Games, including consecutive BCS National Championship games in 2006 and 2007. In 2011 Tressel retired with an overall head coaching record of 229-79 with 135 of those wins coming at YSU and 94 coming at Ohio State. Tressel is one of the most decorated college coaches in history, having earned 12 Coach of the Year awards at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels. Upon leaving Ohio State he served as a consultant for the Indianapolis Colts and returned to Youngstown State University in July 2014 as the ninth president in school history.
