Murry Bartow

Murry Bartow began his career in basketball as a player in college before he transitioned into coaching at the collegiate level. Murry began playing at a young age and it didn’t take long for him to show he had some skills on the court. He later transitioned into playing in college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for four years where he became a star on the team and led the program to successful seasons. After graduating from UAB, Martow then decided to get into coaching and became an assistant in 1985 at Indiana University. Over the course of the next decade he served in an assistant role at several schools before he became a head coach for the first time at his alma mater for a few years before making the move to coach at East Tennessee State. In his career he has led his teams to two regular season championships and two conference tournament championships in route to earning himself the SoCon Coach of the Year Award in 2004.
