About Miguel Torres
Miguel Torres grew up in East Chicago and sports a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while competing in the Featherweight division of the Titan Fighting Championship. Torres got his start in mixed martial arts on the amateur circuit in the Total Fight Challenge and Ironheart Crown. After winning bantamweight titles in both organizations he made the jump to World Extreme Fighting and won the WEC Bantamweight Championship after being named the Breakthrough Fighter of the Year in 2008. In 2010 he made his UFC debut with when the two organizations merged and went on to become one of the top Bantamweight and Featherweight competitors in the Octagon. Since 2012 he has competed in the World Series of Fighting, Glory kickboxing, and Titan Fighting Championship. Thus far in his career he has posted a 43-8 overall record with 24 wins by submission. Torres owns and operates his own MMA academy in Griffith, Indiana, where he trains and teaches over 300 young men and women in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while also training for his own fights.
