About Michele Smith
Michele Smith is a legend in the sport of softball. Her notoriety began to grew when she was an All-American pitcher at Oklahoma State University. Smith threw nine no-hitters in her final two seasons with the Cowgirls and led them to the 1989 Women's College World Series. She still holds OSU records for wins, no-hitters and perfect games. Smith went on to play for Team USA from 1992-2002 and won gold medals at the Olympics in 1996 and 2000. She was particularly sharp in international play, posting a 0.51 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 41.2 innings pitched across the two Olympic tournaments. Smith also spent several years playing professionally in the U.S. and Japan. She has become one of the more popular softball commentators in the sport for ESPN. Smith also became the first woman to commentate on a nationally televised Major League Baseball game in 2012. She is a member of the USA Softball Hall of Fame.
