About Jennie Finch
Not many athletes can say that they revolutionized their sport, but Jennie Finch certainly can. When she arrived at the University of Arizona in 1998 she had already established herself as a rising fast pitch softball star, throwing an unbelievable 13 no hitters and six perfect games in her four years at Matadore High School.
By the time her four years at Arizona came to an end she had become a college softball legend, leading the Wildcats to a National Championship during her junior year and winning an NCAA record 60 games in a row to close out her career.
After college Finch focused her efforts on playing softball professionally and landing a spot on the USA National Team. In 2002 gained international notoriety after displaying her unique combination of beauty and athleticism at the 2002 ESPY Awards. From that point on she was softball’s it girl.
After leading the USA National Team to a Gold Medal at the 2004 Olympic Games she was everywhere. In addition to her many endorsements she appeared in magazines, on television shows, in instructional videos, and built a brand that attracted new and youthful viewers to the sport of softball.
Since her retirement she has enjoyed spending time with her family and continues to be a respected ambassador not only for the sport of softball, but for all female athletes.
