Dominique Dawes

Dominique Dawes was the face of American gymnastics for nearly a decade and competed in four consecutive Olympic Games from 1992 to 2000.  In 1991 she burst onto the scene with a gold medal win in the floor competition at the U.S. Senior Nationals.  She’d go on to become one of the most decorated gymnast in history, earning 14 golds, two silvers and two bronze medals at the U.S. Senior Nationals from 1991 to 1996.  At the world championships she was just as successful, earning silver medals in the uneven bars, balance beam and team competitions as well as a bronze medal in the balance beam.  At her first Olympics in 1992 she was a part of the USA Team’s bronze medal performance in the team competition.  Ultimately that would set the stage for their Gold Medal performance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, which earned her and her teammates the nickname the “Magnificent Seven.”  At those same games she captured a bronze medal in the floor routine.  Prior to retiring in 2000 she led Team USA to another bronze medal in the team competition.  Dawes would go down as the most decorated female gymnast in USA history.
