About Michael Malone
Michael Malone is the Denver Nuggets head coach and is well-regarded for quickly turning the franchise into a winner. After two losing seasons, Malone won 46 games with the Nuggets in 2018 and then posted a 54-28 record in 2019. The Nuggets captured the Northwest Division in the fourth year of his tenure and finished with the second-best record in the Western Conference. Prior to arriving in Denver, Malone spent parts of two seasons as the Sacramento Kings head coach. He had already built a stellar coaching reputation during his time as an assistant with the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets and Golden State Warriors. Malone had to work his way up, originally beginning as an assistant high school coach at Friends School of Baltimore. He also coached on the college level at Oakland, Providence and Manhattan before getting his NBA shot. Malone was perhaps destined for success as the son of former NBA head coach Brendan Malone.
