About Michael Bourn
Michael Bourn was one of the fastest players during his time in baseball. The two-time All-Star led the National League in stolen bases each season from 2009-11. Also known for his center field defense, Bourn has won two Gold Gloves. He came up with the Philadelphia Phillies and has also played for his hometown Houston Astros, the Atlanta Braves, and the Cleveland Indians. The Phillies originally made him a fourth round pick in the 2003 MLB Draft. Bourn played three seasons at the University of Houston and stole 90 bases in 119 attempts. He came to UH out of Nimitz High School. Growing up in the Houston-metro area, he played Little League with fellow future All-Star outfielder Carl Crawford.
