About Matt Winer
Matt Winer is a television personality who has been nominated for four regional sports Emmys. Winer was born on January 10, 1969 in St. Louis Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. After graduating from Missouri, Winer worked for four different television stations: KDSK-TV in St. Louis, WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, WJTV-TV in Jackson and KTVQ-TV in Billings. In 2001, Winer got his start at ESPN and he was often seen as an anchor on ESPNEWS on SportsCenter aired at 6:00pm ET. He was also a host of NBA Fastbreak and College Football Scoreboard along with the SportsCenter 30 at 30 Update. Winer spent 8 years with ESPN before signing with Turner Sports in 2010. At Turner, Winer serves as the primary studio host for Major League Baseball on TBS and he is the studio host on NBA TV. He also contributed to TNT’s coverage of NASCAAR and the PGA Tour.
