About Andrea Joyce
Andrea Joyce has been a sportscaster at NBC since 2000 and is one of the groundbreaking women in sports television. There is nothing in sports she has not covered. Joyce is a regular on Olympics coverage for the network, especially in the areas of gymnastics and figure skating. She has covered 12 Olympic Games in her career, her first assignment coming for ESPN at the 1988 Games in Seoul. Prior to her time at NBC, Joyce worked a variety of sporting events for CBS for nine years. She is a member of the Women’s Sports Foundation. Joyce is a native of Detroit and graduate of the University of Michigan. Her early work was as a TV personality in Colorado Springs, Wichita, Denver, and Dallas. Joyce’s husband, Harry Smith, is a longtime national news broadcaster.
