Jeff Brantley

Jeff Brantley is a baseball fanatic. He may be widely remembered as a former relief pitcher in the MLB or more recently as a broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds. Brantley was originally born in Alabama in 1963. He was a three-sport athlete through high school until choosing to play collegiate baseball at Mississippi State University. As a Bulldog, Brantley participated in the 1985 College World Series and also became a co-holder of the SEC record for career wins as a pitcher. He then debuted professionally in 1988 for the San Francisco Giants. Serving as a relief pitcher for thirteen seasons, Brantley pitched for the Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers, as well. He received the National League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in 1996. After concluding his playing career in 2001, Brantley became a color commentator for ESPN broadcasts of Major League Baseball games. He currently broadcasts for his former team, the Reds, and continues to surround himself with the game he has establishes such a passion for over the years.
