About Matt Kemp
Matt Kemp is a professional outfielder for the Miami Marlins who is a 2x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger Award winner and a 2x Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner. Kemp attended Midwest City High School where he was a two-sport athlete in basketball and baseball. Kemp helped the basketball team to the state championship title two years in a row. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Kemp in the 6th round of the 2003 MLB Draft. Kemp’s professional career began with the Gulf Coast Dodgers in 2003. The following year, Kemp played for the Columbus Catfish and the Vero Beach Dodgers. In 2005, Kemp played for the Florida State League All-Star team. Kemp made his Major League debut with the Dodgers on May 26, 2008. Kemp started on the roster in 2007 with the Dodgers, but he lost his place after suffering a shoulder injury. He became the starting right fielder in 2008.
