About Marty Turco
Marty Turco had a standout 11-year career as an NHL goaltender and he is best known for his nine years with the Dallas Stars. The Stars originally selected him in the fifth round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft after Turco set the NCAA record for wins and won two National Championships at the University of Michigan. He made his NHL debut in 2000, but turned in out in his first season as a starter in 2002. Turco made the All-Star Team, was selected as a Second Team All-Star and set a modern NHL record with a 1.72 goals against average. He also finished as runner-up for the Vezina Trophy. Turco is the Stars career leader in goaltender wins, games played, shutouts and consecutive games played. He went on the play for the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins after his tenure in Dallas before retiring in 2012.
