Marques Haynes

Marques Haynes, a former professional basketball player, will forever go down in history as one of his time’s best ball handlers. Haynes spent over four decades with the Harlem Globetrotters, aweing and inspiring people all over the world with his knack for athleticism and entertainment. A native of Oklahoma, he started to obtain his outstanding dribbling skills on the dirt courts of his hometown. Haynes went on to attend Langston University, where he was a fourtime All-State, All- Conference and team MVP selection. Leading his college team in scoring all four years, the owner of the Harlem Globetrotters was quite impressed with Haynes performance in a game that Langston defeated the Globetrotters. From there, the rest was history. In a four-decade career that extended well into Hayne’s sixties, he played in over 12,000 games, traveled over four million miles and entertained fans in 97 different countries around the world. Haynes even created his own team, the Magicians, which he toured with for eighteen years before returning back to the Globetrotters. His talents are not overlooked as he has been inducted into five Hall of Fames and is widely considered one of the best ball handlers to ever exist.
