About Mario Chalmers
Mario Chalmers was the consummate winner throughout his basketball career.Chalmers is best remembered for his time as a point guard for the Miami Heat, where he became a two-time NBA champion.
Chalmers started at point guard for the Heat right from the start of his rookie season.Throughout the four-year run of LeBron James in Miami, he came up in many big moments.A 25-point performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of the 2012 Finals would help the Heat win the game and the series. The following season, Chalmers had a team-high 19 points in Game 2 against the Spurs and 20 points in Game 6 of a series Miami took in seven games.
Chalmers' big game heroics can be traced to his college days at Kansas. He was the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding player for the Jayhawks when they won the title in 2008.He hit a three against Memphis to send the game into overtime.His storied career at KU led to the school retiring his jersey in 2013.
Chalmers grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and attended Bartlett High School.The Mario V. Chalmers Foundation works on youth sports and breast cancer initiatives.
