Macklin Celebrini

Macklin Celebrini represents a Canadian center who shines as one of the top young talents in the NHL. Born June 13, 2006 in Vancouver British Columbia Macklin began his hockey career with the San Jose Jr. Sharks before moving to the Chicago Steel of the USHL. He topped the league statistics with 86 points during the 2022–23 season which established a new record for the most points scored by an under-17 player in USHL history. Celebrini received all three major awards for the season including Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Forward of the Year which made him the first player to claim every award during a single season.

After his junior season Celebrini chose to attend Boston University for his NCAA freshman year while maintaining his outstanding play. He achieved the Hobey Baker Award title for NCAA men's hockey's best player during his freshman year after scoring 32 goals and making 32 assists in 38 games. He received all three major awards in Hockey East including Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year and Scoring Champion.

The San Jose Sharks chose Macklin Celebrini as their number one pick during the June 2024 NHL Draft. After signing his entry-level contract with the team Celebrini made his NHL debut on October 10, 2024 by scoring a goal and making an assist during a 5–4 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. Throughout the 2024–25 season he established himself as the forward with the most puck battles won per game in the NHL. During the season he scored 25 goals and obtained 63 points across 70 matches which qualified him for the Calder Memorial Trophy final selection as the NHL's best rookie.

The public recognizes Celebrini for his superior skating abilities together with his smart hockey sense and fighting spirit. He follows the example of Patrice Bergeron by focusing on defensive zone responsibility while producing offensive statistics.
