About Lee Corso
Few sports personalities can match that of Lee Corso. As a college football analyst for ESPN’s College GameDay his weekly headgear reveal is one of the most anticipated traditions in all of sports.
Each week he displays knowledge of the game that is the result of a long career as both a player and coach at the college level. After playing both ways as a quarterback and cornerback for Florida State University from 1953-57 he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at FSU, which laid the foundation for his coaching career that spanned over three decades.
After three years at Navy coaching defensive backs he was named the head coach at the University of Louisville before landing at Indiana University from 1973-82. Shortly after his coaching career came to an end he was hired by ESPN as an analyst for Saturday College GameDay in 1987, where he remains today.
In 2010 the National College Football Awards Association honored Corso for his exceptional contributions to college football and a lifetime of achievement and integrity by presenting him the Contributions to College Football Award. In addition to his duties at ESPN, Corso enjoys spending time with his family and wife of 57 years.
