About Charles Davis
Charles Davis is a former football safety and he currently serves as a football analyst for CBS Sports. While in high school, Davis played football, basketball and baseball. On the football team, Davis played quarterback, defensive back and kicker. As a junior and senior, Davis earned All-State honors. Davis attended the University of Tennessee where he was redshirted during his freshman season. As a sophomore, he worked his was into the starting lineup, and he finished the season with 58 tackles and he led the team with interceptions. Prior to the 1985 season, Davis was named to the Preseason All-SEC team. Davis helped lead Tennessee to the Sugar Bowl in 1986 where they defeated Miami. Davis went undrafted in the 1987 NFL Draft, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent, but he did not make the team. After being cut from the Cowboys, Davis turned to broadcasting. He quickly rose up the ranks, serving at times as Fox Sports' lead college football analyst and #2 analyst for NFL games. Davis now works as one of CBS Sports' top NFL analysts.
