About Lance Leipold
Lance Leipold is the head football coach at the University of Kansas. Leipold was the head football coach at Buffalo from 2015-20, winning two Mid-American Conference East Division titles and finishing in the top 25 in his final season. He built an outstanding reputation as the head coach at his alma mater, Wisconsin-Whitewater. Leipold spent eight years leading the Division III program. In that time, he made seven DIII Championship games and won six times. He posted a 109-6 overall record, including five perfect seasons. Leipold was a four-time AFCA Division III Coach of the Year. After playing quarterback at the school, he began his coaching career there in 1987. In between stints at Wisconsin-Whitewater, Leipold was an assistant coach at Doane. He had a tenure as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin from 1991-93. Leipold also coached at Nebraska-Omaha and Nebraska.
