About Kevin Stallings

Kevin Stallings is the all-time wins leader among Vanderbilt basketball coaches. He has been at the reigns of the Commodores program since 1999 and since the school has appeared in six NCAA Tournaments. Twice Stallings has led Vandy to the Sweet Sixteen and he has put together eight 20-win seasons in total. The Commodores have twice finished second in the SEC East and each time he has been awarded SEC Coach of the Year. They also were victorious in the 2012 SEC Tournament. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, Stallings was the head coach at Illinois State for six seasons. The Redbirds went to the NCAAs twice and won 20 games four times under his guidance. Each season they won both the regular season and postseason championships in the Missouri Valley Conference. Stallings won MVC Coach of the Year honors as well in 1998. His coaching career started as an assistant at his alma mater Purdue and a run at Kansas.
