About Junior dos Santos
Junior dos Santos sports a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu when he steps into the octagon in the UFC. Dos Santos was born in Brazil and put together an impressive junior and amateur resume in Brazil before turning pro in 2006 at the age of 21. During his early days as a pro he competed in small promotions, such as Demo Fight, Extreme Fighting Championship, Minotauro Fights and Mo Team League. In 2008 he signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and began competing in the heavyweight division. After winning his debut fight he went on a UFC record streak of nine consecutive wins, capturing the UFC Heavyweight title along the way. Thus far in his career he has posted an overall record of 17-3 with a record eight knockouts in the heavyweight division. Dos Santos fights out of Salvador, Brazil and competes as a member of team Nova Uniao.
