About Jonathan Toews
Jonathan Toews is a Canadian native and has become a lifetime Chicago Blackhawks legend after being named their captain and leading his team to Stanley Cup titles in 2010 and 2013. Toews joined the Blackhawks in 2006 as the No. 3 overall pick in the NHL Draft after earning All-American honors at the University of North Dakota. Upon joining the team he NHL Rookie of the Year honors after recording 24 goals and 30 assists for a total of 54 points. A long time member of the Canadian National Team, in 2010 Toews became one of few players in history to win an Olympic Gold Medal and Stanley Cup title in the same year. He went on to lead his country to another gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Thus far in his NHL career he has scored 195 goals and recorded 245 assists for a total of 440 points in 484 career games. He’s also added 29 goals and 52 assists for a total of 81 career playoff points. At age 27, he is one of the world’s young bright stars and looks to continue to shine for years to come, both in the NHL and on the Olympic stage.
