About Jonathan Spector
Jonathan Spector is an Arlington Heights, Illinois native that began his club soccer career with Manchester United in 2003. Prior to making it big on the international level played with Schwaben AC in Buffalo Grove, Illinois and the Chicago Shockers. Upon graduating from the United States Soccer Federation’s Bradenton Academy he headed to England and landed a spot on Manchester United. Since that time he’s made 214 appearances on the international level with Manchester United, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United and Birmingham City from 2003 to 2011 and become one of the top defenders in the world. During that time he has represented the United States on the men’s national team. In 2003 he earned a spot on the Under 17 team and then made his way to the premier men’s national team in 2004 after earning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award. During his time with the national team he was a member of the USA CONCACAF Gold Cup championship team in 2007.
