Jonathan Marchessault Biography

Jonathan Marchessault has charted an amazing course from undrafted player to Stanley Cup hero. Marchessault was not initially selected by an NHL team out of juniors, but did sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012 and played in two games for them. He also saw action with the Tampa Bay Lightning prior to a breakout season with the Florida Panthers, where he notched 51 points. It was after being chosen in the 2017 Expansion Draft, however, that Marchessault truly found a home in the league with the Vegas Golden Knights. He had a career-best 75 points that first year as the expansion team made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. Marchessault became an All-Star for the first time in 2022. In 2023, he added 25 points across 22 playoff games on the way to Vegas winning the Stanley Cup and him being awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy.
