About John Shulman
John Shulman is a Johnson City, Tennessee native and got his start in coaching in 1985 at University High School. After four years at University he earned a spot on the Wofford College coaching staff, and then served as an assistant at East Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga from 1989 to 2004 before being promoted to head coach at Chattanooga after the 2003-04 season. During his first season at the helm he led his team to 20 wins, a Southern Conference North title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2008-09 he led his team to a third Southern Conference North title and a second SoCon Tournament Championship, with the first coming in 2005. Overall his teams would win four SoCon North regular season titles and win 145 games during his tenure. Since leaving Chattanooga in 2013 he has served as the varsity coach at The McCallie School, where his teams have yet to lose a game. He also serves as the Director of Sales for America Transport and the Director of Community Outreach for The McCallie School.
