About Johan Franzen
Johan Franzen is a Stanley Cup-winning winger for the Detroit Red Wings. Franzen had a playoffs to remember in 2008. His 13 goals across the postseason are tied for the franchise record and the nine goals he accumulated in the Western Conference Semifinals are the most for any one playoff series. In 2009, he signed an 11-year contract that will almost guarantee he is a Red Wing for life. Detroit originally drafted him 97th overall in 2004. Franzen competes internationally for Sweden and won a gold medal at the 2006 World Championships. He did participate for his county at the 2010 Olympics and missed out on the 2014 Games with a concussion. Before coming to the NHL, Franzen played seven seasons in Sweden.
