About Joe Smith Jr.
Joe Smith Jr. became the WBC International light heavyweight champion in June 2016. He defeated top contender Andrzej Fonfara via a first round technical knockout to win the belt. The bout was broadcast on NBC's Premier Boxing Champions card. The following December, Smith scored the biggest win of his career over Bernard Hopkins. He was the first man to knock out the two-weight world champion. Smith originally made his professional debut in 2009. After winning hisfirst six fights, he suffered the only loss of his career to date against Eddie Caminero.
