About Jimmy Spencer
Jimmy Spencer is a Belle Glade, Florida native and played his college football at the University of Florida before joining the Washington Redskins as an 8th round pick in the 1991. While playing at the University of Florida he was a standout corner back and established himself as one of the top NFL prospects in the country. After being selected with the 215th overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft he signed with the Redskins and made his debut a year later with the New Orleans Saints. During his 12 year NFL career he played with the Redskins, Saints, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos from 1991 to 2003. While playing for the Broncos in 2003 he served as a cornerback and assistant defensive backs coach, making him the first player coach in the NFL in over three decades. Spencer retired in 2003 with 418 tackles and 26 career interceptions in 177 career NFL games.
