About Jim Leyritz
Jim Leyritz had an 11-year major league career and was best known for his time with the New York Yankees. Leyritz had two stints with the Yankees and helped the franchise to World Series titles in 1996 and 1999. He is still remembered today for several meaningful home runs in the playoffs. Leyritz also went to a World Series with the San Diego Padres in 1998 that he ironically lost to the Yankees. He was undrafted out of the University of Kentucky, signing with New York in 1985. Leyritz currently co-hosts a Los Angeles Angels show called “Inside the Game” on 830 AM in Southern California. Previously, he worked for MLB Network Radio and was a regular on the Michael Kay Show in New York. Leyritz still works closely with the Yankees and makes appearances for the team. His autobiography, “Catching Heat: The Jim Leyritz Story”, came out in 2011.
