About Jessica Berman
Jessica Berman is the Commissioner of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), a role she assumed in April 2022. Because of her takeover, NWSL has grown exponentially in terms of attendance and even saw a record-breaking $240 million media rights deal. Berman's reign as NWSL commissioner has been primarily focused on doing everything she can to put the players first. This was on display when she helped secure a new, progressive collective bargaining agreement that put more emphasis on player benefits and rights. Prior to her tenure with the NWSL, Berman held executive positions within the NHL and National Lacrosse League. Her extensive experience in sports management made her a perfect candidate for her current role. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Fordham University School of Law. In 2024, Berman was able to earn the honor of Sports Business Journal's Executive of the Year.
