About Jackie Kallen
Jackie Kallen is highly admired for being considered one of the first and most successful female managers in the sport of boxing. While she was raised in a middle-class Jewish family in Detroit, Kallen spent the early years of her career loving life as a show journalist. Throughout the ‘70’s, she received the opportunity to interview the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and numerous others. It wasn’t until she was assigned to interview a boxing prospect in Detroit, Michigan that Kallen viewed herself in the industry. She was immediately swept off her feet by the sports industry and switched her career focus to specialize in boxing journalism. Overcoming heart disease and cancer during these years, as well, Kallen never let up. She currently lives in Detroit and manages three professional boxers. While being featured in magazines and the occasional film, Kallen uses her story to inspire others and keep her fans moving forward.
