Jack Ham

Jack Ham is most famously remembered representing number 59 as a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers for over a decade. Ham was born and raised in Pennsylvania throughout the 1950’s and went on to attend Penn State. He was the starting linebacker at Penn State for three years, achieving over 250 tackles. Even setting a school record by blocking three punts in 1968, it was no surprise when Ham was projected make it to the big leagues. He was selected in the 1971 NFL Draft by the Steelers and played the entirety of his career with them. Ham achieved many notable accomplishments with the Steelers, including being a sixtime first-team All-Pro selection, eight-time Pro Bowl selection, setting a record as having the most career forced turnovers by a linebacker, retiring his number with the Steelers and being inducted into the Pittsburgh Pro Football Hall of Fame. After retiring from the game, Ham continued his career in the sports industry as a radio personality commentating on NFL games. He also became a minority owner of the Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League.
