About Harry Carson
Harry Carson is a retired NFL linebacker who is famous for his time with the New York Giants. Prior to his NFL career, Carson played college football at South Carolina State University where he won back to back defensive player of the year honors. In four seasons at SCSU, Carson would lead a defense that would set NCAA records, and he was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. Following his graduation, Carson was drafted in the fourth round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. In his 13 years with the Giants, Carson would lead the team in tackles five times, and was a nine time Pro-Bowl selection as a part of a feared Giants’ defense that would terrorize opponent QBs for multiple years. In 1986, Carson would help the Giants win their first Super Bowl, recording seven tackles during the game. Carson retired two season’s later, officially recording 14 sacks and 11 interceptions, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
