About Carl Banks
Carl Banks is a retired professional linebacker for three NFL teams from 1984-1995. Banks attended Michigan State University where he played for the Spartans’ football. The New York Giants selected Banks as the third overall pick in the 1984 NFL Draft. Banks spent 8 seasons with the Giants where he helped them to two Super Bowl Championships in 1987 and 1991. He was also a Pro Bowl selection in 1987 and he made the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team. The Washington Redskins signed Banks to a three-year contract in 1993, but he was released from the Redskins after the 1993 seasons. Banks then signed to the Cleveland Browns for the 1994 and 1995 season where he retired after the 1995 season. After Banks retired from the NFL, he became part owner of the New Jersey Red Dogs. In 2007, Banks became an analyst for the radio broadcasts of the New York Giants.
