About Mike Munchak
Mike Munchak played 12 seasons in the National Football League with the Houston Oilers as a offensive lineman. Munchak joined the Oilers as a first round pick in 1982 after a standout career at Penn State University in which he earned second team All-American honors as a junior in 1982. During his 12 seasons with Houston he was elected to nine Pro Bowls, earned 10 All-Pro selections and was named to the NFL 1980’s All-Decade Team. In 1990 he was awarded the Ed Block Courage Award for his dedication to leadership and community during the season. After his retirement as a player he joined the Oilers coaching staff as an offensive assistant and qualify control coach in 1994. He’d go on to serve as the offensive line coach from 1997 to 2010 before taking over duties as the head coach from 2011 to 2013. In 2014 he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as their new offensive line coach. In recognition of his contributions to their franchise, the Tennessee Titans retired his No. 63 jersey, and in 2001 he took his rightful place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
