Jack Givens Biography

Jack Givens is an icon at the University of Kentucky.  He helped lead the Wildcats to the 1978 NCAA Championship and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.  That year, Givens was also a second-team All-American and the Southeastern Conference Male Athlete of the Year.  In his UK career, he scored over 2,000 points and ranks third on the school's career scoring chart. He was a three-time first-team All-SEC pick.  His #21 jersey is retired by Kentucky.  Following his illustrious career, Givens was a first round pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 1978.  He played just two NBA seasons with the Hawks however.  Following his playing career he went into broadcasting.  Givens was the first television analyst for the Orlando Magic, serving in that capacity from 1989-2004.
