About Greg Monroe
Greg Monroe was the Big East Rookie of the Year while playing at Georgetown University and had a stellar career for the Hoyas before joining the Detroit Pistons in 2010 as the 7th overall pick in the NBA Draft. After his rookie season with the Pistons he earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors after posting 9.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Monroe spent the first five seasons in the league with Detroit, recording a career-year in his final campaign when he averaged 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He was with the Milwaukee Bucks for three seasons as well and went on to play with several other teams. Monroe currently plays overseas. As a native of Harvey, Louisiana, Monroe often returns home to visit and train at Helen Cox High School, where he was a McDonalds All-American and earned 2007 and 2008 Gatorade Louisiana Player of the Year honors.n
