Grant Waite

New Zealand golfer Grant Waite’s swing is considered to be one of the great swings in the sport. In his early days he had a standout junior career that caught the attention of several big time colleges in the United States. Ultimately he signed with the University of Oklahoma and became one of the best golfers in Sooner history. In 1987 he turned pro and captured his first victory on the PGA Tour in 1993 at the Kemper Open. Since that time he’s been a consistent performer on tour, earning a $5 million in prize money over the last two and a half decades. Recently he moved to the coaching side of the game and has become one of Golf Digest’s top 50 coaches based in the United States. In 2014 he worked with 14-time major champion Tiger Woods, who he finished runner-up to in the 2000 Canadian Open, and has also worked with several other top performers on tour. Although he was born in New Zealand, Waite is now a U.S. citizen and considers Oklahoma his home.
