About Ben Curtis
Ben Curtis was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up playing the game of golf from a young age. After starring at Buckeye Valley High School he matriculated to Kent State University and continued his success for the Golden Flashes. During his college career he won back-to-back Ohio Amateur Championships and the 2000 Players Amateur Championship. After earning his degree in recreation management he turned pro and joined the Hooters Tour. He went on to earn his PGA Tour Card in 2003 via qualifying school, making him one of the few players to skip the Nationwide Tour in route to joining the PGA Tour. During his first year on tour he won The Open Championship with a brilliant one under par performance. Since that time he’s been a top performer in major championships, finishing tied for second at the 2008 PGA Championship, 35th at the 2009 Masters Tournament and 14th at the 2010 U.S. Open. He’s also won three more PGA Tour titles at the 2006 Booz Allen Classic, 2006 84 Lumber Classic and 2012 Valero Texas Open.
